So Haiku is a Japanese form of poetry consisting of three lines:
- Line 1 — five syllables
- Line 2 — seven syllables
- Line 3 — five syllables
There don't appear to be any rules on stress patterns or on rhyme, so it feels like something is missing for me — just 17 syllables divided across 3 lines in 5/7/5 syllable pattern.
Maybe the Japanese language lends something to the pattern that is lost in English, but they seem kind of pointless to me. Anyway, here is my attempt — don't expect any more!
